API Data Integrity
APIs are essential for secure and efficient data exchange between systems, particularly in scenarios involving payment processing and sensitive customer information. Maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of API traffic is critical to prevent unauthorised access, data tampering, and potential data breaches.
MaxiSafe secures API communications by ensuring that data remains authentic, unaltered, and accessible only to authorised entities. This helps reduce the risk of unauthorised transactions, data leaks, and exposure of sensitive information such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and confidential business data.
Steps:
- Go to API Protection > Data Loss Prevention.
- Review the Detection Rules and enable the Sensitivity Data Type that matches your security requirement.
- Click Edit if you need to whitelist specific APIs to bypass this rule.
- To prevent data exposure, use Data Masking to redact or obfuscate sensitive information in API responses.
